Thank you for helping lead this historic effort. As a registered canvasser, you have two key ways to keep the momentum going:
Who can sign
Before anyone signs, quickly confirm they’re eligible. Use this checklist per Elections Alberta’s cover sheet.
At least 18 years of age
Ordinarily resident in Alberta
No signing on behalf of another individual.
Canadian citizen
Provide contact info (phone or email)
Elections Alberta may contact signers to verify information.
Sign once; do not sign for others
One signature per person; no signing on behalf of another individual.
Provide physical (civic) address
No mailing addresses such as P.O. Box. Include municipality and write clearly.
Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?
Always read the question exactly as written. If someone asks for more context, keep it brief, factual, and non‑partisan, then guide them through the form.

How to complete a petition sheet sided only
One signer per line
Ensure full legal name, complete civic address, municipality, and signature.
Eligibility first
Signers must be eligible Alberta voters. Ask a quick eligibility question before they sign.
Ink and legibility
No pencil. Write clearly—if a detail is missing, kindly ask to complete it.
Canvasser declaration
You must complete the canvasser portion when required and sign where indicated.

The cover sheet explains eligibility, how to complete the form, and that Elections Alberta may verify signers by phone or email. Display it first, then proceed to the signature sheet.

How to complete the signature sheet
Ask the question verbatim (see “The question” above). Then have each citizen neatly complete one row on the sheet and sign. Each row must include: full name (printed), signature, civic address (no P.O. Box), city, postal code, phone or email (for Elections Alberta verification), and date. Use blue or black ink and print clearly. One signature per person. Do not sign on behalf of anyone else.
